Welcome to my homepage!  My name is Marjorie Lamphear and I am a licensed psychologist in private practice, working in Cranston, RI.

People seek psychotherapy for a number of reasons.  Some may come because they need help and support in adjusting to an illness, traumatic experience, major loss, or some other life-changing event.  Others may come out of a desire to grow or change, improve relationships, enhance communication, make an important decision, or solve a difficult problem.  Still others may come because someone else told them they have to go to therapy.

Whatever your reason for coming, entering into therapy is a big commitment – in terms of time, money, and energy. That is why it is so important to have information about the process and how a particular therapist works.  This kind of information can relieve some of the stress about coming.  It can also help you decide if you have found the right therapist.  To help in this way, I provide a brief description of what to expect, information about my credentials, my areas of specialization, and the methods of payment that I accept.  In addition, I have also included the necessary forms that you will be asked to fill out in advance if we decide to schedule an appointment.
